What Does It Mean That Jesus Died For Our Sins?

What Does it Mean that Jesus Died for our Sins?

What does the Bible say about sin? Why Christ died for our sins?

How can I be saved?

Here we will answer what does it mean when jesus died for our sins and many other questions 🙏🏻.

From the beginning, God created human beings to share their love with them. Adam and Eve were people with clean and perfect souls (Genesis 2:15) but they had the freedom to make their decisions and choose their own will 🍎.

adam

"The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it."
Genesis 2:15

When Satan deceives them, they decide to disobey God's will (Genesis 3) and their hearts became sinful, bequeathing this nature to all their descendants, along with the consequence of their sin 👿.

God loves us so much that, beforehand, He devise a solution to redeem the human being and spend eternity with him.

john 3 16

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16

1) What is Sin in the Bible?

They tell us about sin, that we are sinners, but ...

What is it?

It is man's departure from God's will, man's voluntary transgression of divine norms and precepts. It is not limited to evil deeds: we are all born sinners because our nature is corrupt, which causes the human heart to rebel against God's will.

what is sin in the bible

The Word establishes that we are all sinners (Romans 3:23) and therefore destitute of the glory of God.

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"
Romans 3:23

The consequence of sin is death 💀, both physical and spiritual (Romans 6:23). God is such a holy being and so pure that he has no fellowship with sin.

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 6:23

wages of sin

Many will say that they do no harm to anyone, but that does not exclude them from their sinful nature.

2) What Does it Mean Jesus Died for our Sins?

God declared:

"Without bloodshed there is no remission"
Hebrews 9:22

What does this mean? 🤔

I will explain.

After the Flood, God gradually revealed Himself to the people, especially Abraham, with whom he made a covenant.

god's law

Later, through Israel, God proclaims His commandments and laws so that people would learn to obey and worship Him. This also included a way to purify the people of their sins.

The Law of Moses states that (Exodus 20:2-17), to forgive sins, a lamb (it was to be perfect and unspotted 🐑) was sacrificed each year. This is what the remission of sin refers.

The maintenance of God's laws prevented sin from spreading and worsening at times, although he could not completely redeem man, since it was an external system, loaded with external ceremonies and rituals that did not completely cleanse man's heart of his sin.

death of Jesus

"This is an illustration for the present time, indicating that the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to clear the conscience of the worshiper. They are only a matter of food and drink and various ceremonial washings external regulations applying until the time of the new order."
Hebrews 9:9-10

These sacrifices were the prefiguration of Christ's sacrifice to the earth.

"And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all."
Hebrews 10:10

To redeem us and prevent us from being condemned to death for violating God's law, Jesus becomes God and man on earth and presents himself as the last and perfect sacrifice ✝️.

jesus on the cross

But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation.

"But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation"
Colossians 1:22

"For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect."
1 Peter 1:18-19

That is why we say that Christ understands God and his holiness, as well as man and his sin. Only Jesus came to die for our sins and could take the hand of God and man to reconcile them. 🤲🏻.

"For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,"
1 Timothy 2:5

3) How Does God Forgive My Sins?

The Word establishes that God erases our rebellions for self-love, and remembers no more of them.

“I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more."
Isaiah 43:25

what is sin in the bible

Jesus died for sinners and  through his death, paid for all our sins that we may receive by grace that entire God wanted to give us together with the salvation of our souls.

"There is no work or ransom payment that we need to do to be saved; we can For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast.obtain this salvation free through Jesus"
Ephesians 2:8-9

He is the way to the Father:

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"
John 14:6

When we accept Jesus in our hearts, we are purified and forgiven before God, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in our hearts and communion between God and us is restored through Jesus ❤️.

John 14 6

To be forgiven, it is necessary to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior.

"If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."
Romans 10:9-10

There is no other method.

4) How to Not Sin?

It is easy to sin, trying to behave in the best way is an everyday struggle (Romans 7:7-25), although we always sin again.

How to stop sinning? 🚫

how to not sin

There is no magic formula for leaving sin.

The Word exhorts us to live like Christ and leave our old man behind (Colossians 3:1-10).

To do this, we must be firmly edified and committed not to fail God again, take strategic steps to avoid temptations, and maintain a life full of prayer and worship with God.

5) Sinner’s Prayer

If you wish to receive Christ's gift of salvation and eternal life, repeat this prayer with a sincere heart:

"Heavenly Father.
I recognize that I am a sinner and that my sin separates me from you.
I repent deeply and confess with my mouth that Jesus is the Lord and that God the Father resurrected him from the dead.
I renounce every covenant with the enemy, with darkness, with my own flesh, and with myself.
I receive Jesus in my heart and in my life and accept the gift of salvation and eternal life from now on and forever."
Amen.

6) Conclusion

As we saw, sin takes us away from God and condemns us to death for violating God's law.

However, God's love is even greater, that beforehand I devise a plan of salvation for humanity.

The same God, who did not spare his own son Jesus, but I give him as a sacrifice so that all mankind could be reconciled with Him, is the same God, who through his son Jesus Christ purifies and restores us, so that we may not lose any, but that all have eternal life.

sinner prayer

This is the greatest love in the history of creation: that of a Father offering everything to save his little ones from death and hell 🙏🏻.

What else can be done to save man if everything is done?

It is unmatched.
