What does Deuteronomy 2:31 Mean?

Deuteronomy 2:31 reads, "And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have begun to give Sihon and his land before thee: begin to possess, that thou mayest inherit his land."

This verse follows the previous one, which recounted how God had hardened Sihon's heart and delivered him into the hands of the Israelites.

In this verse, God instructs Moses to begin taking possession of Sihon's land, indicating that victory is assured. This shows that God is faithful to His promises and His people, and that obedience and faith in Him will be rewarded.

The verse also emphasizes the importance of actively taking possession of what God has promised. The Israelites had to take action and begin the process of possessing the land in order to fully inherit it. This can serve as a reminder to Christians today that we must actively pursue God's promises and put our faith into action.
