5 Ways To Heal Your Soul
reading - words
Have you ever been through extreme hardship emotionally, mentally, or spiritually ?
We experience emotional, mental, or spiritual distress in different ways. For instance, we have a feeling of depression, fear, anger, lust, loneliness, addiction, unwanted compulsions, grief, anxiety, or heart failures.
Do not allow these problems to weigh you down, but rather, focus on refreshing your mind and soul. We should know that we are not like mechanical objects, which need someone to fix them. We are wounded creatures who require enough time to heal.
1) Find the Root of your Problem
Spiritual healing involves accepting reality as complete. It is how you choose to think about and react to things, which we imagine to be in existence.
When you hear a loud noise, you will not climb a tree to see what it is all about, but rather; you will tend to figure out whether its source is dangerous or not.
That is the mental attitude we should be having towards healing. We should focus on the roots of the problem to have a clue on the type of solutions we may need.
Some heroes of faith in the bible, like King David and Job, were going through tough times, but they came out of their problems victorious. If you are going through intense mental, emotional, or spiritual struggles, try the following solutions.
2) Get Close to God Who Heals Broken Hearts
Emotional and spiritual pains are hard to deal with compared to physical pain, where you can see and fix the wounded parts. It is tricky to ascertain what to do or where to start from with the healing process.
For that reason, we only have one option; turn to God, for he knows the idea why you are going through such difficulties.
We find encouragement from Ecclesiastes 3:3 :
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal..."
It talks about seasons for everything, i.e., there is a time to destroy and a time to heal, a time to seize up, and a time to build. 1'st Samuel says that God is capable of bringing death, but at the same time, he gives lives.
Hosea also requests us to return to God, for he has torn us to pieces, but he will heal us. God has also wounded us, but he will bind our wounds.
1’st peter says that after we have suffered for a while, God will call us to eternal glory in Christ, and he will restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish us. The book of Revelation also says that God will wipe away tears from our eyes, and there will be no more death, sorrow, suffering, nor pain.
Jesus says in Matthew 11 that we should go to him, all who are weary and burdened, and he will give us rest.
"After Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he went on from there to teach and preach in the towns of Galilee.
When John, who was in prison, heard about the deeds of the Messiah, he sent his disciples to ask him, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?”
Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me."
3) Move On
You cannot just sit and wish everything to get into place. You have to try so that God will also help you achieve what you desire. Learn to forget about the past and move on.
You cannot change what happened, but you can control what is yet to happen. Have the right mental attitude, i.e., stop looking for the meaning of your life as if you lost it, but realize that it is in your power to influence and make the meaning.
Be yourself, i.e., know what you want and stand up for your values. Next, invent yourself by coming up with capacities you are capable of achieving, like being calm, less critical, and more productive.
Besides, try to love and be lovable to feel warmer and happier, and engage yourself in physical activities to make your mind active.
4) Seek for Professional Help
Pay a visit to some medical professionals because some changes in hormones can cause mental illness. Besides, get yourself a therapist who can help you get to the root of your problem, overcome them, and make positive changes in your life.
5) Connect with Your Loved Ones
You should not isolate or distance yourself from people that love you or the ones that you love. It is true that sometimes, it is difficult to reach out to others for support.
However, within your trusted circle, you may have friends or relatives who may have been through the same problem as yours.
They may share their strategies to overcome their problems, and you will benefit from them. Therefore, do not depend on God or medical professionals only; maybe your help comes from the people surrounding you.
Remember, a friend loves endlessly, and a brother is born for a time of adversity. We should learn to live in the solution, not in the problem.
A wise person will always choose people to listen and hear to them, not to love them. Your time to heal can be a personal record for courage and determination, only if you are persistent in God and Prayer.
