How To Nourish Your Mind ?
As Christians, we should use God's word to bring us joy, comfort, and motivation, so that we do not withdraw our attention from God.
Learn how to build a divine relationship with God by learning how to nourish your mind, worship God only, and believing in him as your all-time provider.
How Can You Nourish Your Mind?
Our minds are the genesis of all sins, which is why we should have an idea of how we should guard, strengthen, and renew them.
Below are some possible ways that you can get your mind nourished :
Food
God is the provider, and we can validate that statement through his words in the book of Genesis.
He stresses that; everything that lives and moves about will be food for us. The word also says that God gave us seed-bearing plants and every tree that has fruits with seeds in it, so that we may use them as our food.
Your body needs to be strong enough for it to fulfill its intended purpose on earth.
The mind also needs to be active all the time. For that reason, you should consume nutritious foods for the well-being of your account, body, and soul.
Exercise
Through regular exercise, you will make your mind active at all times, hence, eliminating some problems like stress, anxiety, and depression, among others.
Besides, you will be building healthy body muscles, making you physically fit always. In Proverbs, God says that she who sets about her work vigorously makes her arms for her tasks.
Guard Your Mind
In Proverbs, the scripture points out the difference between a wise person and a fool. If you are smart, you will always crave for knowledge. A silly person, on the other hand, feeds on trash.
God chose all of us to bear fruits, so, if you want to be a victorious Christian, you will have to train your mind to do the right things. As you go through the book of Philippians, you will get to know how to guard your mind.
For example, avoid being anxious towards everything, for when you submit your requests to God through prayer, the peace of God will protect your heart and mind.
Learn to pray as much as you worry, and then you have little things left to fear.
"And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:7
Do You Worship The Creator Or His Creation ?
In the book of John, the scripture says that there was a word in the beginning, which was with God, and it was God.
"In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
John 1:1
Those words mean that God existed before creation. God made Man out of his image and likeness, for him to have dominion over the earth. Therefore, we are supposed to be in control of all things that God created.
While that may be true, God was not a creation, which is why he is above us, and he is our master. Man is the master of all things on earth; therefore, all works of creation should serve us. Nevertheless, God is our head, so, we should be obedient to him.
Some people give high priority to worldly riches compared to God. These riches are addictive, and you may find it difficult to leave them once they flourish. God cannot open a work opportunity for you to get rich. Instead, he gives you a job so that it can feed you.
You should, therefore, not put too much attention on the job or money, because you will be serving it, yet it is supposed to help you. Instead, put God first and serve him because he is your master. Avoid being in love with the world or the things in the world, for the love of God will not be in you.
God Is Enough to Sustain You a Day at a Time
In Philippians, God says that he is enough to meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Jesus.
"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:19
If you are experiencing a hard moment in life, remember that each day has its trouble, and God will not allow you to live that way throughout your life.
He needs us to endure our problems, but trust him for tomorrow.
He is our daily bread, so he will always meet our needs. Our future is in God’s hands, and his mercies renew themselves every morning.
God's grace is sufficient for everyone. Therefore, he calls us to rejoice, pray, and thank him, for his word is a sword that assists us to battle through life, and bread to sustain our heart, mind, and soul.
“It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
